Why OpenGraph tags matter.
Every time someone shares your URL on social media or in a chat, the platform reads your OpenGraph meta tags to build the link preview. A missing or broken og:image means your post shows a blank card. A truncated og:title means you lose the click. Most sites have at least one broken tag they don't know about.
og:titleThe headline shown in the link preview. Should be 60–90 characters. If missing, platforms fall back to the page <title>.
og:descriptionThe subtext under the title. Should be 155–200 characters. Missing on ~40% of pages.
og:imageThe preview image. Should be at least 1200×630px. A missing image gives you a blank grey card on every platform.
Every platform crops differently.
The same URL can look great on Twitter and broken on LinkedIn because each platform uses a different crop ratio, character limit, and fallback logic. That's why it's worth checking all of them before publishing or launching a campaign.
